Here are the latest executive moves in the restaurant industry:
Curly pepperoni specialist Mountain Mike’s Pizza has promoted Jim Metevier to the role of CEO. He served previously as brand president and COO for five years, and during that time system sales increased by 83%. Metevier has been tasked with accelerating franchise development for the nearly 300-unit chain.
Bloomin’ Brands CFO Christopher Meyer will retire this year. Meyer has spent 20 years at the owner of Outback Steakhouse, Carraba’s and other casual brands, joining Outback as director of corporate finance in 2004. He was promoted to CFO in 2019. Bloomin’ is searching for a replacement, and Meyer will stay in his role until that person is named.
Natalie Harden is the new CFO at Condado Tacos. She served previously as VP of finance and investor relations at Chuy’s Holdings. Columbus, Ohio-based Condado has 49 units in 10 states and plans to double in unit count over the next four years.
Nan Ward has been promoted to chief operating officer of fast-casual seafood chain Captain D’s. Ward has been with the chain since 2012 and most recently served as chief people officer.
Voodoo Brewing Co., an 18-unit brewpub chain, named Erik Ivey as COO. Ivey brings with him more than two decades of restaurant experience, having worked at brands such as Chipotle, Quiznos and Yum.
Ashley Luna has been named director of food and beverage for The Restaurant at Farmhouse Inn in Forestville, Calif., in the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Luna most recently assisted with the launch of The Madrona in Healdsburg, Calif., and he was involved in Mendocino at the Harbor House Inn. Earlier in his career, he was a sommelier at Aqua; an assistant general manager at Delfina; and he spent a few years working with luxury hotels that included The Hotel Del Coronado, Ojai Valley Inn and Rancho Bernardo Inn.
Chef Tara Monsod will be helming the kitchen at the new Le Coq restaurant coming to La Jolla, Calif., as executive chef. Monsod is a James Beard Award semifinalist for her work with the restaurant Animae in San Diego. She will continue to lead Animae and the new Le Coq, a modern French steakhouse that is scheduled to open in the spring. Both Animae and Le Coq are part of the Puffer Malarkey Collective, based in San Diego.
Aleksandra Kanazir is the new food-and-beverage manager for the Perry Hotel & Marina in Key West, Fla. She previously served as an assistant property manager at Kimpton Key West, where she managed food and beverage, housekeeping and front desk departments.
Guillermo Tellez is the new executive chef for Yuta at The Lodge at Blue Sky outside Park City, Utah, which is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. Tellez has three decades of experience that has included with with Charlie Trotter’s New York Sodexho, Executive Dining Concepts and Red Owl Tavern.
