A longtime Jack in the Box executive is retiring

Executive Summary: Jack in the Box's Chief Supply Chain Officer Dean Gordon will help search for his replacement; Shuckin' Shack names a COO and more restaurant industry leadership shifts. 

Dean Gordon, who has been with Jack in the Box for 15 years, is retiring from his role as SVP, chief supply chain officer. Gordon, who has held this position since 2019, will play “an integral role” in recruiting his successor, the fast-food chain said.

Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar announced the promotion of Sarah Meriam to chief operating officer. Meriam previously served as director of franchise operations for the Wilmington, N.C.-based chain. She fills the role vacated in late 2022 when the former COO retired. “I am beyond stoked to be given such a great opportunity by stepping into this new role,” Meriam said in a statement. “I was a fan of the Shack brand long before I worked here and feel blessed to be part of this team.”

Christian Pasco Diaz was named Chef de Cuisine at Le Jardnier, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Miami’s Design District. Chef Diaz has 15 years of fine-dining experience and is tasked with leading the restaurant to new heights in its mission to highlight conscious cuisine with a focus on locally sourced Floridian ingredients.

Anthony Carron, a former corporate executive chef for the Mina Group who also founded the 800 Degrees Pizza chain and later launched the restaurant Coast Range in Solvang, Calif., is the new CEO of JRS Hospitality in Las Vegas. The group has three restaurants there: Chéri, Beer Park and Alexxa’s at Paris Las Vegas. Before joining JRS, Carron was also senior vice president of culinary and business development at the Boca Restaurant Group.

James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schlow was named chef-partner at Seamark Seafood & Cocktails and its intimate cocktail bar, Old Wives’ Tale, both opening inside the Encore Boston Harbor resort and casino in April. Schlow, previously operated well-regarded Boston restaurants Radius, Via Matta and Tico. Seamark will be parent company Carver Road Hospitality’s first opening in New England.

At the restaurant Mayor’s Table in the Lido House Hotel in Newport Beach, Calif., Quentin Gravet has been named general manager, overseeing daily operations while curating new additions to its wine program. Gravet worked previously as GM and wine director for restaurants like Olivetta in West Hollywood, Calif., and Marché Moderne in Newport Beach.
